UTS breaks into Top 10 Young Universities Worldwide

In a remarkable triumph, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) has soared to the top echelons of academic excellence. Just days after breaking into the esteemed list of the Top 100 Universities Worldwide, UTS has again secured a prestigious position. This time, it has clinched the ninth spot for young universities globally and emerged as Australia's leading institution in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings, a compilation of universities under 50 years old.

Professor Andrew Parfitt, the Vice-Chancellor of UTS, acknowledged that while the growing strength of UTS's research has been a significant factor in both ranking systems, the university remains steadfast in pursuing its distinctive vision for excellence in higher education.

“Underpinning all that we do at UTS is a commitment to benefitting society through our teaching, research and outreach, in particular through the nexus between technology, creativity and innovation.

“We partner with industry to provide solutions to global challenges in fields including the opportunities and responsible implementation of artificial intelligence, sustainable solutions in energy, water and urban development, human and environmental wellbeing.

“And we are uniquely situated in Sydney’s TechCentral precinct and within a thriving start-up and creative industries ecosystem.”
