Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management, you will develop skills through the following learning outcomes:

    Use data visualisation methods to represent and navigate large information spaces, and critique and evaluate different approaches. Apply multi-dimensional visualisation techniques to the process of visual data analytics.
  • Regulation and ethics in data practices 
    Gain an understanding of the regulation and ethics of data principles in the digital environment, and apply your knowledge to understand the impact on organisations, individuals and society. 

  • Machine learning methods 
    Learn how to apply state-of-the-art algorithms to your professional practice. Design an approach to machine learning problems in specialised domains and critically assess the impact of machine learning.  

  • Artificial intelligence (AI) solutions 
    Compare and contrast technologies used to achieve AI solutions and apply data visualisation techniques to an enterprise data set.

What you will study

The UTS Online Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence comprises four subjects (24 credit points) and can be completed in just eight months, studying part-time. 

You will study the following subjects: 

  • Data Visualisation and Visual Analytics (6CP)
  • Data Ethics and Regulation (6CP)
  • Machine Learning (6CP)
  • Artificial Intelligence for Enterprises (6CP)

Course information

To gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management, applicants must have the following academic qualification and professional experience.

Pathway 1

Completed Bachelor's degree (or overseas equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Data Analytics, Software Engineering or others comparable to Field of Education (FoE) 02 Information Technology; or one of the following in a relevant field: 

  • Completed Master's degree; or 
  • Completed Graduate Diploma; or​ 
  • Completed Graduate Certificate; or
  • Completed Doctorate or Masters (Research or Coursework); or 
  • Incomplete coursework Doctorate; or 
  • Incomplete coursework Masters (1 year and above). 

Additional Requirements

In addition to the outlined qualifications, applicants must have at least one year full-time (or equivalent) experience in a related role to the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma (or alternative experience through their contributions to organisations and/or communities and/or start-ups and/or entrepreneurship may be considered). For those applicants interested in the masters who do not meet the additional requirements for admission, this is an alternative entry point. 

This will be supported by submission of: 

  • A CV, electronic portfolio or professional profile outlining work experience, the dates of employment and position(s) held within the organisation. 

Assessment of other criteria: 

  • Demonstrates experience in a technology or enterprise role related to artificial intelligence demonstrating work integrated learning and contextualisation of academic qualifications. 

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place.


Pathway 2

Applicants who do not meet the academic qualification requirements for admission, but have professional practice (three-year minimum) and a general capacity to undertake tertiary education may be considered. 

This will be supported by submission of: 

  • A CV, electronic portfolio or professional profile outlining work experience, the dates of employment and position(s) held within the organisation. 

Assessment of other criteria: 

  • Demonstrates experience in a technology or enterprise role related to artificial intelligence, demonstrating skills of assumed prior knowledge required for the relevant course. 

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place. 

Note: Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management may use the successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Technology Management as a pathway, provided they meet the specific entry requirements.

Graduate Diploma
All units from the Graduate Certificate + 4 Diploma units or continue studying

The Graduate Diploma focuses on giving you the foundational skills that industry demands plus the soft skills to influence business decisions at senior management levels. 

The fast-tracked model means you can graduate with a diploma in just over a year, plus it gives you a pathway to study the Master of Business Analytics. 

English Language Requirement

All applicants are required to meet the University’s English language requirements: 

Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, Internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
