Entry requirements

Applicants must have completed a UTS-recognised bachelor's degree in Marketing (or a related business discipline e.g. Commerce or Management). Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in non-business related disciplines must also have two years’ full-time (or equivalent) relevant marketing work experience. Applicants without a previous academic qualification must have a minimum of four years, or equivalent, relevant marketing work experience and general capacity to undertake tertiary education.

Note: The graduate certificate may be used as a pathway to the Master of Digital Marketing.

Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.

Meet our Course Director

Dr Andy West has over thirty years of experience in marketing in consultancy, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Prior to becoming an academic twenty years ago, he owned an ICT and high technology development company. Before joining UTS he was a lecturer and researcher at New York University and Macquarie University. His research interests are in digital innovation and entrepreneurship. His current research is the impact of generative AI image generators on the creative marketing process, with two book chapters and journal article.

This course is for students with a non-marketing background who want to gain a foundational understanding of digital marketing concepts.

If you have no formal qualification but a minimum of four years' (or equivalent) relevant marketing work experience and general capacity to undertake tertiary education, upon assessment by our admissions team, you may be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing.

You will be supported throughout your online studies and provided with multiple opportunities to receive feedback from teaching staff and peers in online discussions and activities.
