What you will study
The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics runs over four study periods (eight months) and each of the four study periods contains subjects that total six credit points. Some study periods are made up of a combination of two, three credit point subjects, while others are one subject worth six credit points.
There are two pathways (business or IT stream) at the start of this course. Your previous experience and qualifications will determine which one is best for you. On successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics, you will then have the opportunity to take on further studies and enrol in the Masters program. Read more about each below:
UTS Online’s Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics is made up of four study periods in total. At the successful completion of this course, students will have the opportunity to enrol into the Master of Business Analytics.
The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics (business stream) is designed for those who have a background in IT, engineering, information science or analytics and want to build business acumen.

The Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics (IT stream) is designed for those who have a background in business, marketing, HR, accounting or finance and want to develop technical knowledge.
- Enabling Enterprise Information Systems (6CP)
- Database (6CP)
- Foundations of Business Analytics (3CP) + Data Processing Using SAS (3CP)
- Data Ethics and Regulation (6CP)

Course information
The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, Internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
To gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics, applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree in a related field within the business or information technology discipline that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
To gain entry into the Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics without a previous academic qualification, applicants must have a minimum of four years, or equivalent, relevant work experience and general capacity to undertake tertiary education. The relevant work experience must be demonstrated through a C.V. and evidence of the date of employment and position held within the organisation e.g. Statement of Service, business registration letter, payslips or tax statements.
