Entry requirements
Currently, this course is only accepting applications from Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in a related field of study#
OR
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in any field of study AND a minimum of 2 years full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant post-degree marketing professional work experience*
OR
- A minimum of 4 years full-time or equivalent part-time, relevant post-secondary marketing professional work* experience
# Related fields of study include Accounting, Banking, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Project Management, or other related fields (e.g. Multimedia or Photomedia) with sufficient background in marketing tools and technologies.
* Relevant marketing professional work experience includes roles such as Advertising Manager, Media Professional, Sales and Marketing Manager or Professional, Public Relations Manager or Professional, and Sales Representatives and Agents.
Supporting documentation to be submitted with the application
For applicants who need to demonstrate professional work experience:
- Curriculum Vitae AND Statement of service in one of the following formats:
- A 'Statement of Service' provided by the employer
- A completed 'UTS statement of service’ signed by the employer
- A statutory declaration confirming professional work experience (Australian residents only)
- An official letter from the applicant’s accountant or solicitor, on company letterhead, confirming the applicant’s professional work experience or engagement with the business, duration of operations, and nature of the business
- A business certificate of registration in original language and English (e.g. provision of ASIC documentation or ABN or similar documentation for Australian Businesses)

Meet our Course Director
Dr Andy West has over thirty years of experience in marketing in consultancy, entrepreneurship, and higher education. Prior to becoming an academic twenty years ago, he owned an ICT and high technology development company. Before joining UTS he was a lecturer and researcher at New York University and Macquarie University. His research interests are in digital innovation and entrepreneurship. His current research is the impact of generative AI image generators on the creative marketing process, with two book chapters and journal article.

Yes, you can still apply, even if your degree isn’t in marketing, as long as you meet the entry requirements.
To be eligible for the Graduate Certificate in Digital Marketing, you’ll need either:
- a UTS-recognised bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related business discipline (such as Commerce or Management), or
- a bachelor’s degree in another discipline plus at least two years of relevant marketing work experience, or
- at least four years of relevant marketing work experience (if you don’t hold a prior academic qualification), along with demonstrated capacity for tertiary study.
