Currently, this course is only accepting applications from Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Applicants must have the following:
- Completed Australian bachelor’s degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Technology AND A minimum of 2 years’ full-time (or equivalent part-time) relevant professional work experience# in:
- a technology role, or
- a professional enterprise role, or
- alternative experience through contributions to organisations, communities, start-ups or entrepreneurship
#Relevant professional work experience is defined as employment within OSCA groups of ICT Professionals, ICT and Telecommunications Technicians, and ICT Managers.
Applicants who do not meet the criteria above should consider applying for C11339 Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management, or C11341 Graduate Certificate in Technology Management.

- Curriculum Vitae AND Statement of service in one of the following formats:
- A 'Statement of Service' provided by the employer
- A completed 'UTS statement of service’ signed by the employer
- A statutory declaration confirming professional work experience (Australian residents only)
- An official letter from the applicant’s accountant or solicitor, on company letterhead, confirming the applicant’s professional work experience or engagement with the business, duration of operations, and nature of the business
- A business certificate of registration in original language and English (e.g. provision of ASIC documentation or ABN or similar documentation for Australian Businesses)

Dr Madhushi Bandara is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science at UTS and Director of the Master of Technology Management. Her work spans artificial intelligence, software systems and data-intensive digital ecosystems, with research applied across healthcare, finance and telecommunications. Through her teaching, you’ll build the capability to understand emerging technologies, work across business and technical teams and contribute to technology-enabled transformation.

You’ll study one subject at a time through structured online learning, allowing you to focus on one area of technology management at a time and apply what you learn to contemporary workplace and enterprise challenges.
How you balance work, study and personal commitments will depend on your individual circumstances, so it is important to plan for the weekly study requirements of each subject.
Both courses develop advanced technology leadership capability, but the Executive Master of Technology Management is designed for more experienced technology professionals who meet additional entry requirements.
Applicants to the Executive Master currently need a relevant technology qualification and at least five years of relevant professional experience. Eligible students may receive up to 24 credit points of Recognition of Prior Learning, allowing the Executive Master to be completed with as few as eight subjects and in as little as 16 months.
The standard Master of Technology Management comprises 12 subjects and can be completed in a minimum of 24 months.
Previous study or professional experience may be recognised as credit where it meets the relevant UTS course requirements.
Applicants with at least five years of technology-relevant professional experience may be eligible for up to 24 credit points of Recognition of Prior Learning and direct entry into the Executive Master of Technology Management. UTS assesses Recognition of Prior Learning after an offer of enrolment has been accepted.
Yes. The UTS Online Graduate Certificate in Technology Management and Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Management can provide pathways into the Master of Technology Management.
Each Graduate Certificate comprises four subjects totalling 24 credit points. Eligible students who receive full credit for those four subjects may have eight additional subjects remaining to complete the 12-subject master’s degree, subject to current UTS credit rules.
The Graduate Diploma of Technology Management is available as an exit qualification for eligible students enrolled in the Master of Technology Management.
Current course information states that students may be eligible to exit with the Graduate Diploma after successfully completing eight subjects, subject to current UTS course rules.
